The North Face presents the South American Premiere, “TRANGO”. At 6,000 meters, trust in your team means everything. The North Face athletes Christina Lusti, Jim Morrison, Nick McNutt and Chantel Astorga navigate unimaginable risk, grief and constant exposure as they attempt the impossible—the first ski descent of the Great Trango Glacier. The unspoken trust and support within their expedition team that allows them to face the unimaginable together.

Cineaste: Leo Hoorn

Nacido y criado en Smithers, BC, Leo Hoorn se dedicó al skate y al snowboard durante su juventud. Poco después, comenzó a experimentar con el cine. Sus amigos en la industria cinematográfica lo llevaron a Whistler, donde Sherpas Cinema lo descubrió rápidamente.

Como editor, director de fotografía y director de fotografía de los Sherpas, Leo ha contribuido a proyectos filmados en lugares remotos como “All I Can”, “The Great Siberian Traverse”, “Tsirku”, “Loved by All” y, más recientemente, “Children of the Columbia”.

A diferencia de los proyectos mencionados, Leo ha trabajado en rodajes comerciales internacionales en las calles de Los Ángeles, Tokio, São Paulo y Beirut con marcas de talla mundial. Estas iniciativas le han permitido desarrollar un vasto arsenal de herramientas de fotografía y habilidades de campo que Leo puede aplicar a cualquier entorno.

Leo se esfuerza por producir imágenes impactantes que impacten emocionalmente a través de la fotografía de paisajes y el retrato en su trabajo personal, comercial y creativo. Director: Leo Hoorn

Born and raised in Smithers, BC, Leo Hoorn’s youth was skateboarding and snowboarding. He began experimenting with filmmaking promptly after. Leo’s friends in the industry led him to Whistler where he was quickly discovered by Sherpas Cinema.

As an Editor, Cinematographer and Director of Photography with the Sherpas, Leo has contributed to projects filmed in remote locations such as “All I Can”, “The Great Siberian Traverse”, “Tsirku”, “Loved by All”, and most recently, “Children of the Columbia”.

In contrast to the aforementioned projects, Leo has worked on international commercial shoots in the streets of L.A., Tokyo, Sao Paulo and Beirut with world-class brands. These ventures have aided in developing a vast arsenal of shooting tools and backcountry skills for Leo to bring to any setting.

Leo strives to produce powerful images that pack an emotional punch through landscape photography and portraiture throughout his personal, commercial and creative work. His intention is to continue to challenge himself in his everyday practise and continually experiment with lighting and shooting techniques.
